Family, friends and maybe clients have gifted you with some thoughtful and generous gift cards.
Now what?
The possibilities of which items to purchase can be overwhelming.
Unless you have a specific need that the gift card will be helpful in purchasing, you could make the mistake of a regrettable ‘impulse buy’.
Here are some suggestions regarding gift cards to clothing retailers:
First, ask yourself what you really need or want?
Have you been putting off replacing that worn out white shirt? Is it not very white anymore? Are the edges getting a bit frayed from years of washing and wear?
Second, make sure that you have other items to wear with the new item. How will you incorporate the new item into your current wardrobe?
That sweater with the funky design pattern looks different from your usual style, but are the colors a good shade for you? It’s fun to step out of your comfort zone, but will you wear it once you get it home?
Third, unless the gift card has an expiration date on it, wait until you have a need for a specific item.
You can always wait until the change of seasons when new looks will be available and there will be more inventory to choose from!
