A Capsule Wardrobe is a small collection of clothes in the same color or tonal family. You can mix and match items together easily to create multiple outfits!
This will not only save you money, but it’s a great way to rebuild your wardrobe in an intentional way.
You need the Basics that create the foundation of your Capsule Wardrobe.
Men and Women - Trousers
Black, gray and tan trousers are the basics that you need.
*Men, NO pleated pants!
Men and Women - Jeans
Light wash for Summer
Medium and Darkwash for colder weather
Skirts - Black and tan.
Men and Women - Shirts - White collared dress Shirts. (Can be worn alone or under sweaters, vests and blazers/jackets.) Print or patterned shirts in your capsule tonal color.
Tops - Knits, Polos, Golf Shirts and Blouses.(Buy in the tonal family of your Capsule Wardrobe.)
Men - Shoes - Dressy, casual Leather shoes in Black and Brown.
Women - Shoes - Dressy, casual Leather Shoes/Heels in Black, Brown and Neutral.

Men and Women - Coats - Black or Tan Wool coats that are lined.
Trench Coats - All-weather, lightweight coats that are functional and stylish.
Men and Women - Accessories - Belts in Black and Tan leather.
Use this as a checklist for your current wardrobe.
If you notice that you’re missing pieces, go shopping and fill in the gaps.
These are ‘Investment Pieces’.
Also, make sure that the styles that you're buying are Classic pieces! Buying Trend pieces is NOT part of a Capsule Wardrobe!
This is a great start to a fashionable wardrobe that won’t go out-of-date.
Once you have a solid Capsule Wardrobe, you can add some fun pieces in different colors and tones.
If you have a little disposable income, you can play with some of the trends.
Remember that trends constantly change and are only viable for a year or so.
Don’t invest your time or money buying them if you don’t have money to spare.
Not worth it.
When you buy quality pieces in Classic cuts, you’ll save time and money in the long term and your look will be timeless.
Cheers!
