I love working with people who listen and learn when I’m trying to teach them how to dress and shop for themselves. It’s not possible to cover all the lessons in one Shopping trip together either.
Some have tried, but it doesn’t work.
Today, I’m going to shine my light on Michele.
Michele and I had a one-off Shopping trip a few years ago.
I hadn’t seen her closet at that time, because she told me that she wasn’t excited about anything that she currently had and there wasn’t much to see.
So we headed straight to a Shopping trip.
She was very happy at the end of our 4 hours together, but she wasn’t able to commit to anything more at that time.
Fast forward three years and Michele let me know that she was ready to get serious about her style.
We spent the last year together honing her look.
I taught her how to dress for her body shape, the best colors for her and how to dress for different occasions.
I also taught her what to avoid, as far as all of the above and trends.
During the year, we were able to visit every season. She is now ready for different events in her life, as well as her day-to-day look.
This is where I start beaming.
Recently, on social media, Michele posted a photo of herself before going out for the evening.
Her husband thought she looked so beautiful that he wanted to take her picture. He then suggested to Michele that she should send it to me and she did.
Michele DID look amazing! She was smiling and feeling confident.
It made me sooo happy!
The best part was that she had created a new outfit for herself without my help…and she ROCKED IT!
Michele had listened to my Do’s and Don'ts over the past year. She was able to mix and match the wardrobe that we worked on by herself!
You can’t learn all that in 1 Shopping trip.
It takes time.
Michele figured that out.
By having me support her on her style journey, she was able to do it.
On top of that, her picture got TONS of compliments!
“Wow! You look great!”
“Love that outfit on you!”
“You look like you’ve lost weight!”
They went on and on.
I AM a proud Mama.
Cheers!
